Selected work

Gender-responsive social assistance

UNICEF · Eswatini · 2024–25

Led an assessment of the gender responsiveness and age sensitivity of Eswatini’s social assistance system. Findings informed a policy roadmap and capacity development plan, including recommendations on unpaid care and programme delivery.

Urban livelihoods and political economy

CAFOD · U-RISE · Zimbabwe · 2026

Led a political economy analysis across Bulawayo, Gweru and Kwekwe, examining power, institutions and barriers affecting informal livelihoods. Produced recommendations for programme design and consortium decisions.

COVID-19 and social protection

Radical Statistics · 2020

Co-authored with Apera Iorwa, this article examined how COVID-19 shifted the political possibilities for expanding social protection. Drawing on Nigeria’s response, it explored the implications for reaching people beyond existing safety nets and building more comprehensive systems.

Earlier experience

Earlier roles included leading advisory work on Nigeria’s Child Development Grant Programme and wider social protection portfolio, developing UNRWA’s livelihoods strategy, and advising on social assistance and economic empowerment in Zimbabwe.
